eduroam
**eduroam** is an abbreviation of **"Education Roaming"**. Working on the **RADIUS-based 802.1x security standard**, eduroam enables seamless network usage for users of eduroam member institutions at other member educational institutions globally. A user from a member institution can use their credentials (username and password) to connect to any other member institution's eduroam wireless network. Boğaziçi University has been an eduroam member institution since **2012**.
This network is published for the **primary use of university members**. There is no access speed limit; speed distribution is provided by the wireless network management system according to the instant user density.

eduroam_setup
This network is published to allow non-Internet connected users to **access guides** for connecting their devices to the **eduroam** network. To access the necessary setup site (eduroam.bogazici.edu.tr) from this network, your device's **DNS configuration must be set to automatic**.
BU_Guest
**BU_Guest** is a guest wireless network available only at Boğaziçi University campuses. It is a service for relatives of Boğaziçi University members, company representatives, and guest students.
- **Access Speed:** 15 Mbps download / 15 Mbps upload.
- **Short-term Access (1 day):** You can connect to "BU_Guest" and visit guest.cc.bogazici.edu.tr. Fill in the relevant sections (Name, Surname, Birth Year, T.R. ID, and TR GSM number) to receive 1-day internet access.
If guests require wireless access for **longer than one day**, a user account must be defined. This is done by creating a request through the **Issue Tracking System**: Issue Tracking System > IT Department > Network Administration Department > Guest Posts Account / Connection Requests.
eduroam Guest Service Update
The **eduroam-guest** service, previously provided for long-term academic guests, will continue to provide service by being **renewed via the BU-Guest system** as of **March 14, 2025**.
You can make guest definitions and other related requests under the following heading in the **Issue Tracking System**: Issue Tracking System > IT Department > Network Administration Department > Guest Posts Account / Connection Requests.
